Palo Verde Fire 100% Contained In Castro Valley
Crews fought the blaze from the ground and air.
CASTRO VALLEY, CA – The Palo Verde brush fire, that broke out Sunday afternoon in Castro Valley and sent smoke throughout the area, scorched 48 acres before being 100 percent contained later that day, officials said.
The Alameda County Fire Department and Cal Fire responded at 12:20 p.m. to the blaze on the 6500 block of Palo Verde Road, an unincorporated area of Alameda County.
"A quick and coordinated response from many agencies throughout the area responded to battle the blaze from the air and on the ground," the county fire department said.

Joining ACFD and Cal Fire were firefighters from Fremont, San Ramon Valley, and Livermore-Pleasanton departments, along with other law-enforcement agencies.
No injuries were reported, and no structures were damaged, the agency said.

Cal Fire is investigating the cause of the fire, officials said.
