CERRITOS-ARTESIA, CA – Earlier this week, a structure fire burned on the second story balcony of a building in Long Beach, but firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and no one was reported injured.
Also in Long Beach, a young boy was hit by a car and critically injured. He was taken to the hospital with "life-threatening injuries," said Nancy Pratt of the Long Beach Police Department. Police are also investigating a 58-year-old man's death. He was apparently hurt in a fight and received a traumatic wound to the upper torso.
For the kids and kids at heart, a Fairies vs. Trolls Scavenger Hunt is coming to the South Coast Botanic Gardens, where visitors will search for the Merry Fairy Trollstone. Costumes are encouraged, and it sounds like a blast!
