Danville Church Group Among ‘Day Of Hope' Volunteers

The Convoy of Hope is a faith-based nonprofit organization known for its programs of feeding and otherwise helping those in need.

PLEASANTON, CA — Several members of the Danville-based Community Presbyterian Church joined other local churches, the Danville Lion's Club and businesses at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton to help provide services and resources to Tri-Valley families in need on Sunday.

"One of the things that made this 'Day of Hope' so special was the camaraderie among the volunteers," said Deana Dickerson, CPC Director of Missions. "This included seven local churches and many secular organizations coming together to serve our community, particularly those in great need."

Families were welcomed with music and a fun play area for kids, while the volunteers spent hours providing free items and services to families, including new shoes to kids, haircuts, well-checks, groceries, career counseling, resume writing, emotional support, and prayers during the "Day of Hope" event.
