Reward Upgraded in All Wars Memorial Vandalism in Danville

Danville officials announced Wednesday that the reward for information on vandals who covered a city war memorial with graffiti last month has been increased to $12,000. Thanks to donations from community organizations, Danville officials said they were able to increase the reward, which was previously just $6,500.

The reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for vandalizing the memorial. Black and red spray-paint was discovered on the All Wars Memorial in Oak Hill Park on June 8 and is believed to have occurred sometime early that morning or late in the evening on June 7.

The memorial, honoring all those who served in American wars, includes bronze figures, walking paths, stone walls and a historic quotation wall. An image pulled from cameras at the park show a pair of subjects walking in the direction of the memorial around 3:30 a.m. the morning of June 8, according to police.
