Dublin Among Top 10 On Money's 'Best Places To Live In America'

DUBLIN, CA — Dublin made Money magazine's coveted list of Best Places To Live In America for 2018. The new rankings, released Monday in partnership with realtor.com, were compiled by looking at more than 135,000 data points including economic health, cost of living, diversity, public education, crime and income, according to Money. Reporters also researched each community, interviewed residents and checked out neighborhoods.

Dublin ranked No. 7 in the country and was the only city in California to make the top ten. Money said Dublin, which is located 35 miles outside of San Francisco, is "one of the fastest-growing cities in California." The article gave a shout out the annual St. Patrick’s Day festivities, The Dublin Wave and good weather. Dublin is home to 68,000 residents.

Mayor David Haubert says he is incredibly proud of Dublin.

"This reinforces what I already know — that Dublin is a great place to live, work and raise a family,” Haubert told Patch. "I think we have even better years ahead. We have a lot of great things to look forward to. I love Dublin."

The study included only cities with populations of 50,000 or more, but excluded communities with more than double the national crime risk, less than 85 percent of their state's median household income or lack of diversity.
