Firefighters Extinguish Early Morning Blaze at Empty House in Richmond
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Firefighters put out a one-alarm structure fire at a home that was either vacant or abandoned in Richmond early Tuesday morning. The incident was reported in the 500 block of Fifth Street shortly after midnight.
The fire was under control by 12:25 a.m., according to firefighters. The fire was isolated to a detached garage, but the entire structure sustained severe smoke and fire damage. There was no salvageable property, according to firefighters. No injuries were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Responding agencies included the Richmond and El Cerrito fire departments.
