Man Critically Injured in Shooting Friday Expected to Survive

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call (925) 233-1214 or an anonymous tip line at (925) 232-TIPS (8477).

A man found shot multiple times in a Richmond apartment Friday afternoon is expected to survive his injuries, a police sergeant said. The shooting was reported at 2:45 p.m. Friday in the 3000 block of Groom Drive, police said.

The 38-year-old victim was found inside an apartment there with multiple gunshot wounds, police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said. The victim, who was in critical condition at the time and was unable to provide a description of the suspect, is believed to be an acquaintance of the apartment’s resident, police said. Abetkov said today he is expected to survive. She said there was no new information immediately available about a possible suspect.
