Hayward Man Accused of Jumping White House Fence Released
Jerome Hunt was issued a stay-away order and will be monitored by GPS to ensure that he complies with the court.

A Hayward man arrested after allegedly scaling a White House fence on Sunday pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor unlawful entry Monday and was released but was ordered to stay away from the White House, according to court records. Jerome Hunt, 54, was arrested immediately after climbing over the fence on the south side of the White House at about 10:25 p.m. Sunday, according to U.S. Secret Service officials.

Hunt was charged with misdemeanor unlawful entry. At a hearing Monday afternoon, he pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on the condition that he stay away from the White House. To ensure he complies with the stay-away order, he will be subjected to GPS monitoring, according to court records.

Hunt will also undergo a mental health evaluation before returning to court May 15, according to court records.
