Arrests Made In Celebrity Burglary Spree
Los Angeles Police detectives believe they've got the burglars that have been targeting celebrities and famous athletes.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Just in time for the Dodgers' playoff push, Los Angeles police announced arrests connected to a string of burglaries targeting professional athletes and celebrities across the city Monday.
The Los Angeles Police Department plans to announce details of the arrests Tuesday at a press conference. But the news has to be uplifting for the likes of Dodger slugger Yasiel Puig, who's been burglarized four times as well as Rams wide receiver Robert Woods, whose home was hit during Thursday night's victory against the Minnesota Vikings. Woods' Woodland Hills home was burglarized the same week as Rihanna's Hollywood Hills homes. Police responding to an alarm system at the nine-time Grammy winners told reporters they were confident the singer's home surveillance footage would lead to an arrest.
Frequently, the burglaries occurred during widely publicized tours or games. Puig was burglarized during the World Series and spring training. In the Woods case, three burglars entered a home in the 7800 block of Hillside Avenue by breaking a glass door in the back of the home before taking unspecified property, while in the Rihanna case, officers responded to a home in the 7800 block of Hillside Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the LAPD.

An alarm was sounding and lights were flashing at the home, but no one was inside at the time, police said.
"During recent months, the Los Angeles Police Department has become aware of a series of residential burglaries targeting actors, producers, musicians and professional athletes living in the Los Angeles area," according to the LAPD's announcement of Tuesday's news conference. "Initially, it was believed that the homes were being burglarized at random. Detectives learned, however, that this wasn't the case. The victims' homes had been selected based on social media posting, touring or travel schedules of the owners."
