Mariah Carey Burglarized: $50,000 In Purses And Sunglasses Stolen
Queen of pop Mariah Carey joins a long list of celebrities victimized by burglars in Los Angeles: BREAKING.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Mariah Carey became the latest celebrity victimized by burglars in Los Angeles overnight after thieves made off with about $50,000 worth of the famed diva's accessories.
The "Glitter" star's home was broken into sometime around 3 a.m., and the thieves made off with about $50,ooo in purses and sunglasses, TMZ reported. None of her jewelry was taken.
The Los Angeles Police Department would not confirm to Patch whether it has any burglary investigation involving Carey. TMZ quoted authorities as saying her home was burglarized while she was in New York City. No one else was in the home at the time, TMZ reported.

It appears the burglars got in through a window or door on an upper floor and a ladder was found in the backyard, according to TMZ.
The burglars tripped a silent alarm, TMZ reported, but the break-in was not discovered by her security team until about 6 or 7 a.m.

Carey is the latest celebrity victim in a string of burglaries targeting stars and athletes in the Los Angeles area. Police have not identified a link between the celebrity thefts.
