Dodgers Slugger Yasiel Puig Burglarized Yet Again
In the long list of celebrities and athletes targeted by burglars in Los Angeles, Yasiel Puig seems to be a favorite.

ENCINO, CA — While the Dodgers were eeking out a dramatic victory over the Rockies Tuesday night, burglars were breaking into outfielder Yasiel Puig's Encino home, yet again. It's the fourth time, the slugger has been hit. First they hit him during spring training, then the World Series, then last month, and now they hit him again as the Dodgers fight for a playoff berth.
The suspects ransacked the home and located a safe in the second-floor master bedroom, dragging it downstairs, through the living room and to the front door entrance. They left the safe at the front-door entrance, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.Dragging the safe caused approximately $10,000 in damage to the house. An inventory was being conducted to determine the amount of property taken, police said.
Detectives are looking for three suspects in the crime, which was reported at about 8 p.m. Tuesday at the residence in the 5300 block of Louise Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Authorities did not say what was taken. The suspects, described only as three men in their 20s, fled in a black four-door Toyota.

TMZ.com reported that police were called to the residence after one of Puig's assistants got a security alert on his phone, showing three men leaving the athlete's property.
"Yasiel has a security camera set up that captures motion, and it automatically sends the video to a cell phone programmed to receive it," according to TMZ. "When Yasiel's associate saw the footage, he immediately called police ... but the bad guys had already fled. We're told the men broke in through the back door ... smashing it open."

In a city where famous musicians on publicized tours, actors on location, and athletes on road trips have been burglarized, the charismatic Puig has been a favorite target.
In November of 2017, his Encino home was burglarized following the club's loss to the Houston Astros in the seventh game of the World Series. In March of 2017, a Sherman Oaks house belonging to Puig was targeted in a burglary that resulted in the loss of about $170,000 worth of jewelry. They stole "high-end Rolex watches," and that the crime occurred while Puig was in Arizona with the Dodgers for Spring Training. Sources told TMZ that Puig had tapped a relative to stay in the home in his absence, but the crooks made their move when that person was out of the house.
