• 2 Dead, 2 Critically Injured After Small Plane Crashes In Fresno: Officials (patch.com) — Residents in northwest Fresno are reeling after a small plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Sierra Skypark, killing two people and critically injuring two others. Fresno officials confirmed the casualties as federal investigators head to the scene, while a city councilmember urged the community to support the surviving family and praised first responders' efforts.
   

• Man shot outside Fresno home; two juvenile suspects sought, police say (fresnobee.com) — A man was seriously wounded in a Saturday afternoon shooting outside his home on West Berkeley Avenue in northwest Fresno, and police are now searching for two teenage suspects who ran toward Lodi Avenue. Investigators are still determining whether the attack was gang-related and are asking anyone with information to contact Fresno Police at 559-621-7000.
   

• First-year Fresno City College football coach wants more after win over Foothill (fresnobee.com) — Fresno City College's football team has started 2-0, but new head coach Josh Brown says penalties, turnovers and missed field goals kept the Rams from fully capitalizing in their 24-10 win over Foothill at Ratcliffe Stadium. He's pushing players to clean up mistakes before a major road test at City College of San Francisco on Sept. 12.
