Pair arrested in Mexico for Dec homicide of Clovis Unified educator (yourcentralvalley.com) — Two suspects arrested in Mexico are being brought back to Fresno to face charges in the December 2025 killing of Clovis Unified employee Geoffrey Bernardi. Fresno County Jail will house the pair, who investigators say fled to Mexico with two children now being reunited with family through Child Protective Services.
   

2. Breaking: Peach Fire in Fresno County - already 75% contained (fresnobee.com) — Fire crews are working to fully contain the Peach Fire near Peach and Manning avenues by Selma in Fresno County, which has burned 38 acres and is already 75% contained. Officials explain that containment reflects control lines around most of the fire, but stress that the blaze is not yet out and 25% of its perimeter remains uncontrolled.
   

3. New service reporter joins The Fresno Bee to bring readers essential information (fresnobee.com) — Fresno readers are getting a new source of practical, community-focused coverage as Gagandeep Singh joins The Fresno Bee as a service journalism reporter. He'll focus on helping residents navigate daily life, highlighting immigrant and South Asian communities, and expanding stories like local school rankings and the experiences of Punjabi Fresno truckers.
   

4. Man killed in Highway 41 wrong-way crash identified (abc30.com) — Authorities have identified 18-year-old Jose Carmona as the driver killed in a wrong-way crash on Highway 41 in Fresno County early Wednesday near Elkhorn Avenue. Investigators say he was driving against traffic when he hit a Ford F-150, sending both trucks off the road; Carmona later died at the hospital, and officers suspect alcohol or drugs played a role.
