3.3-Magnitude Earthquake Near Cloverdale Rattles Sonoma County

CLOVERDALE, CA— A magnitude 3.3 earthquake shook northern Sonoma County at 10 p.m. Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake struck about 2 miles southeast of Cloverdale, 12 miles from The Geysers, 14 miles from Healdsburg, 14 miles from Cobb and 27 miles from Ukiah.

It was felt in Healdsburg, Petaluma, Santa Rosa, Novato, San Francisco and Pacifica — almost 90 miles away from the epicenter, the USGS said.

A second, smaller earthquake was recorded near Cloverdale at 5:18 a.m. Tuesday and measured 2.2 magnitude, the USGS reported.

No injuries or damages were immediately reported in the quakes.
