Pedestrian Struck By Car Crossing Street Near Santa Rosa
The collision was Tuesday night on Santa Rosa Avenue, CHP said.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – A vehicle struck and injured a 51-year-old man southeast of Santa Rosa on Tuesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers responded at 9:15 p.m. to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian on Santa Rosa Avenue just north of East Robles Avenue.
The pedestrian had walked into the southbound lanes of Santa Rosa Avenue to try to cross the street. A 24-year-old Sacramento man driving a 2007 Honda Accord at about 30 mph was not able to stop in time and struck the man, causing major injuries, CHP officials said.

The driver was not injured but his car had significant damage and had to be towed, according to the CHP. He cooperated with investigators and was not believed to be impaired by drugs or alcohol.
