• Refresher on new Inland high school football leagues for the 2026 season (pressenterprise.com) — Hemet High's football team is shifting from the Sunbelt League to the Inland Valley League as part of a broad Inland high school realignment for 2026. The piece walks through which leagues changed, who moved where, and what that means for upcoming matchups across the region. 
• Update: Taffle Fire in Riverside County hits full containment by Wednesday afternoon (sanluisobispo.com) — A wildfire that started Aug. 14 about five miles southeast of Hemet has burned 77 acres but reached 100% containment by Wednesday afternoon. Fire officials explain that while flames may still burn inside the lines, the perimeter is secured and the blaze is no longer expected to spread.
