Week Of Extreme Heat On The Way In Coastal Orange County: NWS
Temperatures exceeding 100-degrees were forecasted for this upcoming week in Orange County, weather experts said.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Get ready for a hot Saint Patrick's Day, Orange County: an Extreme Heat Watch is forecasted for your region from Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20.
Inland Orange County residents can expect temperatures up to 100 degrees throughout the heat watch, according to the National Weather Service.
Coastal Orange County residents can expect temperatures ranging from 85 to 90 degrees.

"The greatest warming will begin in these areas by Monday and Tuesday, with highs nearing 100 degrees by Tuesday for the valleys of Orange and San Diego counties," the NWS wrote in a statement. "Please use this time to prepare for the incoming heat by making sure you have enough water and products to keep cool."
"The coastal areas will see a tougher forecast as cool westerly winds off the ocean will have a large effect on the temperatures within a mile or so from the coast, where some areas may stay much cooler," the statement said.

Weather experts said residents can expect the hottest days to fall on Thursday and Friday, with temperatures likely to hit 100 degrees in inland Orange County.
The Extreme Heat Watch comes after another hot week and a slightly cooler weekend in Orange County.
Orange County residents were urged to watch for heat-related illnesses, drink plenty of fluids, and stay out of the sun.
