Man 'Threatened To Kill Multiple People' Before Standoff: RSO
Riverside sheriff's authorities have released details related to an incident that prompted a day-long SWAT scene in Wildomar on Thursday.
WILDOMAR, CA — A 44-year-old Wildomar man accused of engaging law enforcement in a day-long standoff is jailed Friday in lieu of a whopping $20 million bail — and is facing charges of making terrorist threats, negligent discharge of a firearm, stalking and resisting arrest, according to police records. What's more, sheriff's officials say Eric Clifford Rinderhagen had mad threats to kill people prior to Thursday's events.
According to the Riverside County Sherif's Department, Wildomar police were first notified of Rinderhagen on Nov. 26 when they "received information from an allied agency regarding a citizen of the city of Wildomar making threats to kill multiple people related to and acquainted to the suspect, on a specific date."
"Detectives conducted interviews with potential victims and witnesses and obtained evidence from recorded phone messages and text messages," the sheriff's department said. "A threat assessment of the suspect was conducted and based on multiple weapons registered to the suspect, the Riverside County Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team was notified."

However, it wasn't clear if Rinderhagen was arrested following that call.
Then, on Thursday, a 911 call was placed related to Rinderhagen around 11:11 a.m. from residents living on the 24000 block of Mauri Court, which runs just one block adjacent to Clinton Keith Road, according to the sheriff's department. The residents told authorities that a man was "standing on a driveway firing a rifle into the air and making threats to neighbors."

"The suspect identified firing the rifle was confirmed to be the suspect identified in the criminal threats investigation," officials said. "The Riverside County Sheriff’s SWAT team was activated and responded to the scene."
As a precaution, police blocked off the area and evacuated several homes while an ensuing standoff scene lasted into the night. Nearby Clinton Keith Road was closed to all traffic in the area.
At around 9 p.m., the sheriff's department reported that the standoff was over.
"The incident has come to a peaceful resolution," the department tweeted. "The individual involved in this incident surrendered to deputies after several hours of negotiating. No injuries resulted from this incident."
Jail records indicate Rinderhagen was booked into the French Valley jail around 2 a.m. Friday, where his bail was set at $20 million.
Sheriff's officials are continuing to investigate the case and asked anyone with information to call Lead Investigator Kelleher of the Wildomar Police Department at (951) 245-3300.
