Livermore Babysitter Accused of Smothering Baby Returns to Court in June
East Bay resident Moriah Gonzales faces felony child abuse charges.

LIVERMORE, CA: An East Bay babysitter suspected of abusing a 13-month-old boy in Livermore will be back in court in June.
Moriah Gonzales, 20, who was reportedly seen on surveillance video suffocating the baby until he was limp, will return to court for a preliminary examination on June 30 at 2 p.m. in the Gale-Schenone Hall of Justice, according to an Alameda County court records.
Officials began investigating the reported abuse allegations on Feb. 18. According to police, Moriah Gonzales, who advertised her services on Care.com, was taken into custody and booked into the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin on Feb. 19.

Following her arrest, the District Attorney filed one count of 273a(a) PC against Gonzales. She appeared in court on March 4 and pleaded not guilty to the charges against her.

In Danville, a babysitter was arrested in April after a surveillance camera reportedly showed the Antioch woman strike and shake a 10-month-old baby.
