Livermore Man Accused Of Costco Jewelry Robbery

Two robbers targeted the Costco store in Tracy on May 7.

LIVERMORE, CA — A Livermore man was arrested Saturday in connection with a smash-and-grab jewelry robbery at the Tracy Costco on May 7.

Jeffrey Potter, 30, of Livermore and Richard Hoffman, 28, of Manteca were charged with the armed robbery, Tracy police said.

Tracy and Livermore police worked together to execute an arrest warrant for Potter on Saturday morning. Potter was arrested shortly before 8 a.m. near Church and Second streets, Livermore police said. Potter is in custody at the San Joaquin County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.

Tracy detectives found the car used to carry out the crime at Hoffman's home, police said. Hoffman was already in Custody at Santa Rita Jail on unrelated charges of possessing stolen property and being a felon in possession of a gun, and police have also charged him with robbery, police said. He remains in custody in lieu of $750,000 bail.
