Police Issue Warning Following Rash of Livermore Car Burglaries
Police officials discourage leaving items visible in cars.
Livermore, CA— Livermore has been experiencing a rash of vehicle burglaries recently. Cars parked in the residential areas near the Sunset School neighborhood have been targeted, according to police. Residents say they their cars have been hit during the night.
The Livermore Police Department wants to help keep the community from being victimized.

"Let’s not make it easy for these thieves," police officials said via Facebook. "Please keep your cars locked and don’t leave items visible!"
The number of property crimes--home burglaries, car burglaries, packages stolen from doorsteps--in the Tri-Valley has soared over the past year, frustrating residents and prompting police departments to urge everyone to “call early and often” if something seems amiss.

In 2014, the rise in car burglaries throughout Pleasanton prompted police to launch the “Hide It, Lock It, or Lose It” campaign focused on reminding those who live, work or play in Pleasanton to remove all items from a vehicle before parking in an effort to deter would-be burglars.
Police have shared surveillance video, and photos when they are available, in an attempt to solve property crimes in the Tri-Valley. The problem with sharing video or photos is that frequently criminals come into the Tri-Valley to commit crimes from elsewhere in the Bay Area, the Central Valley and sometimes even farther away.
Police investigators in Pleasanton recently asked for the public's help identifying a woman who allegedly used a stolen credit card to buy merchandise at a Dublin Target store.
