1. 20-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Long Beach Hit-And-Run: Report (patch.com) — Long Beach residents are being asked to help after 20-year-old motorcyclist Ronaldo Perez was critically injured in a hit-and-run at Downey Avenue and Andy Street while riding home from work. Police say a second driver hit him and fled, and relatives in Long Beach have launched a GoFundMe to support his recovery after brain surgery while urging the driver to come forward.
   

2. Video Released Of Car Sought In Long Beach Hit-And-Run That Killed Man (patch.com) — Long Beach police have released video of a black sedan suspected in a hit-and-run that killed 65-year-old pedestrian Juvenal Banderas on Pacific Avenue earlier this month. Investigators say Banderas was struck by three vehicles, and they're urging anyone in Long Beach with dashcam or security footage from the area to come forward to help identify the missing drivers.
   

3. 3 Teens Shot On Same Long Beach Block In 17 Days (patch.com) — Residents near the 1900 block of Lemon Avenue in Long Beach are facing renewed safety concerns after two teenagers were shot and hospitalized Saturday night, just 17 days after another teen girl was wounded on the same block. Police say the latest victims, a boy and a girl, were taken to local hospitals, with the boy in critical but stable condition, and no suspects or motive have been publicly identified as investigations continue.
   

4. LBUSD parents, students concerned about 'el futuro' of dual immersion at Stephens Middle School (presstelegram.com) — Families at Stephens Middle School in West Long Beach are fighting to keep their dual-language immersion program on campus as Long Beach Unified weighs enrollment quotas, budget deficits, and school closures. Parents say moving the program to the former Hoover site would create major transportation barriers for West Long Beach students and further shortchange an already under-resourced area, and they're pressing the district for firm commitments and funding, not just promises.
   

5. High tide, waves crash against Long Beach boardwalk from Hurricanes Odalys, Polo (presstelegram.com) — Long Beach's oceanfront is seeing high tides and crashing waves from Hurricanes Odalys and Polo, just weeks after Hurricane Marie damaged parts of the boardwalk. City officials have already handed out more than 5,100 sandbags and warn residents about possible flooding in low-lying coastal areas as surf up to 7 feet combines with six-foot tides.
