27 Burglary Suspects Sought | Bloody Knife-Wielding Intruder Shot | Dodgers Legend Dies: SoCal In Brief

We've rounded up the stories you may have missed over the weekend to prepare you for the week ahead.

But before we jump into Southern California's top stories: Another stretch of dangerous heat is building across the region this week, according to the National Weather Service.

Heat advisories are in effect across parts of Los Angeles County from Tuesday through Thursday, with highs expected to reach 92 to 105 degrees in inland valleys. Temperatures are expected to hit as high as 110 degrees in the Coachella Valley through Thursday, while parts of the Inland Empire could approach or top 100.

San Diego County will also warm through Thursday, with inland valleys climbing into the 90s and desert areas reaching 105 to 108 degrees, while coastal areas remain in the 70s under a shrinking marine layer, according to the NWS.

In other news, A total of 27 suspects are being sought following a pair of robberies at a retail store in Los Angeles County in the span of two days. Authorities say the suspects ransacked the store and executed a "coordinated, mob-like burglary" during the chaos of street takeovers earlier this month.

Plus, a 78-year-old man was killed by law enforcement Friday after shooting at tree trimmers, barricading himself in his Inland Empire home for hours and firing at deputies, according to authorities.
