SUV fire on 2 Freeway in Eagle Rock sparks small brush fire (abc7.com) — A flaming SUV shut down northbound lanes of the 2 Freeway in Eagle Rock on Tuesday night and briefly sparked a brush fire threatening nearby homes in Los Angeles and Glendale. Quick work by both cities' fire departments, including a Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter, contained the flames and protected the neighborhood, and the freeway has since fully reopened.

Concerns grow over graffiti, crime at future $82M Sixth Street PARC (foxla.com) — Neighbors in Los Angeles are already worried about graffiti, crime and future homeless encampments at the not-yet-open $82 million Sixth Street PARC beneath the Sixth Street Bridge. Residents are pushing for a 41.18 no-camping zone while city officials finalize security cameras, LAPD monitoring, maintenance plans, and a park advisory board before opening the 12-acre park later this year.
