Suspect Shot By Police During Chase Through LA: Reports

The man was shot after leading police on a chase through Los Angeles Tuesday afternoon.

LOS ANGELES, CA — An armed man suspected of stealing a vehicle was shot by police after leading officers on a pursuit Tuesday afternoon, according to reports.

The chase began at around 1:47 p.m. in South Los Angeles as police pursued a man driving what may have been a stolen blue pickup truck, CBS Los Angeles reported.

The man oven drove on the wrong side of the road and at high speeds during the chase, according to the station.

The chase ended in Boyle Heights at around 2:15 p.m., at Marietta and Garner streets, KTLA reported.

The man took off running after the chase, prompting one or more officers to open fire. The suspect was hit by at least one bullet, according to KTLA.

Video aired by ABC 7 showed officers and paramedics tending to the bloodied suspect before he was taken away in an ambulance.

This is the second police chase that was ended by a shooting in the last week.

On Friday, police shot a robbery suspect at the end of a chase on the 405 Freeway, prompting a full closure of the interstate during the morning commute.
