Students from 12 elementary schools will celebrate Kids Ocean Day, a statewide celebration and day of action for the ocean.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Students from 12 elementary schools in inland Orange County will celebrate Kids Ocean Day by participating in a beach cleanup and aerial art display in Huntington Beach.

This year's theme for Kids Ocean Day is "Make Ripples of Positive Change" as the Orange County Coastkeeper joins the statewide celebration and day of action for our ocean. The annual event helps kids who are facing disproportionate systemic barriers to coastal access go to the beach.

"The statewide celebration educates the next generation of ocean advocates and empowers them to value and protect our environment," officials said.
