HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — A speedboat that belongs to Quicksilver CEO Pierre Agnes was found upside-down and empty on the beach of Hossegor, a renowned surfing location, Tuesday, with no one on board, according to multiple media outlets. The Associated Press reported that authorities are sending boats and helicopters to search for the missing entrepreneur. The 54-year-old father of three was last seen setting out into choppy seas at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, according to reports. Agnes was alone on his 11-meter Mascaret III, near the seaside resort of Biarritz.
The Sun reported that he intended to solo fish at Capbreton, located at the mouth of the Boudigau and Bourret rivers, however he disclosed to maritime authorities that he was "postponing" his trip home because of thick fog.
