Man Arrested For Assaulting Driver, Stabbing Teen: Police
A man was arrested for allegedly assaulting an Uber driver and stabbing a teen near Park Elementary School in Mill Valley, police said.

MILL VALLEY, CA — A Mill Valley man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly assaulting an Uber driver, and minutes later, stabbing and robbing a teenager near Park Elementary School, police said.
John Santiago Rosales, 18, turned himself into Mill Valley police about 19 hours after a man driving an Uber vehicle was punched in the face by his passenger in the area of East Blithedale and Elm avenues, according to the Mill Valley police. The driver reported the attack at about 6 p.m. Saturday.
Almost simultaneously, Mill Valley police received a call about a 15-year-old boy being stabbed near Park Elementary School at 360 E Blithedale Ave., near the reported Uber attack. The attacker also stole the teen's cell phone.

Both victims gave police similar descriptions of the attacker. The driver was treated for facial injuries at the scene and released. The teen was taken to a hospital where he was treated for stab wounds and released.
Based on information from the victims, officers reached out to the suspect's family Saturday night, police said. Rosales turned himself around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Rosales was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of battery with injury, robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
"We are saddened by the incident that occurred in our community this weekend," Mill Valley School District Superintendent Kimberly Berman said in a statement.
"Our hearts go out to all families affected. We are aware that this may be frightening for kids and we will be doing everything we can to address these concerns. Our counselors remain ready to support students Monday morning."
