Baby Makes First Appearance at Del Taco in Murrieta

Abigail Trombino had been in this world less than a minute but she was already at Del Taco.

A baby girl was born Friday on the front seat of her parents' Chevy, which had pulled into a Del Taco restaurant in Murrieta because little Abigail Trombino could not wait to arrive at the hospital.

Abigail saw the light of day for the first time about 6:30 p.m., in the parking lot of the eatery at 40465 Alta Murrieta Road.

Her parents were on their way to when the baby -- who was three days early in the first place -- apparently decided she could not wait, her father, Mike, told Patch.

Trombino said he traveled the wrong way on Murrieta Hot Springs Road because being from Wildomar, he was not famiiar with the directions to Rancho Springs.

His other three children -- a girl and two boys -- were born at Inland Valley Regional Medical Center, in Wildomar, but that option was out for Abigail because Inland Valley's maternity ward has been closed.

Baby and mother were transported to nearby Rancho Springs shortly after her birth. There were no health complications for either, according to the proud father.

Murrieta firefighters and AMR medics were called to the scene to help with the event and fire Capt. Richard Curran called it, "just exciting. This is the best part of our job honestly."

Abigail weighed in at 6 pounds 10 ounces, and was 19 inches.
