Toddler Pulled From Swimming Pool Passes Away

The Hemet child was on life support for nearly two weeks, officials said.

HEMET, CA – A 2-year-old boy who had been hospitalized since being pulled from a backyard swimming pool in Hemet nearly two weeks ago has died, authorities said Monday.

Zayden Wilson was pronounced dead about 4:20 p.m. Sunday at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital, where he had been on life support, according to the Riverside County authorities.

The toddler was found floating in a pool about 10 a.m. on Jan. 31 in the 25000 block of Bellview Street in the Val Vista area of Hemet, according to sheriff's Sgt. Robert Duckett.

"Investigators are currently conducting a follow-up investigation on the incident to rule out foul play or neglect," Duckett said.
