3 Men Arrested After High-Speed Police Chase Through Napa County
Two Napa residents were among those charged after speeds reached more than 90 mph before the suspect's car crashed outside a golf course.
NAPA, CA — Two Napa residents were among those arrested over the weekend after a high-speed chase involving two law enforcement agencies reached more than 90 mph before ending in a crash outside of a Napa County golf course, according to published reports.
Brandon L. Alvarez, 27, and Daniel Herrera, 28, both of Napa, were passengers in a Mercedes Benz that was involved in the chase and that was driven by a 23-year-old Vallejo man, The Napa Valley Register reported.
The chase took place Saturday afternoon when an American Canyon police officer noticed a vehicle code violation on the car being driven by Juan Pablo Prado. The newspaper reported that the officer believed he recognized Prado, who is on state parole, police said.

When the officer attempted to stop to car, Prado sped up, which began the pursuit, police said. The officer lost sight of the vehicle, which traveled north on Highway 29 before turning east on Jameson Canyon Road. According to the report, Napa County sheriff’s deputies joined the chase, which ended when the Mercedes crashed into a tree in front of Chardonnay Golf Course.
Police said that Prado and Herrera attempted to elude police on foot but were captured. All three men were booked into the Napa County Jail. According to police, Prado was being held on suspicion of evading police, causing injury by driving under the influence and resisting arrest, the newspaper reported.

Herrera was being held on suspected involvement in the pursuit for violating his probation. Alvarez was booked for suspected involvement in the pursuit but was later released on bail. The newspaper reported that all three men face enhanced criminal charges for suspected gang involvement, police said.
