Marin County Voters Preview: Key Offices Up for Election In Upcoming Primary

A guide to what offices voters will decide in the primary election.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Marin County residents will vote for several key offices in the June 2 primary election, including federal, state, county and judicial offices.

Below is a summary of the key offices that will appear on the ballot, covering both voter-nominated partisan offices and nonpartisan local seats:

State and County Nonpartisan Offices

  • State Superintendent of Public Instruction (full-term)
  • Countywide Offices: Marin County Assessor-Recorder-Clerk and Marin County Superintendent of Schools (both full-term).

Marin County Board of Supervisors

The election will also determine representation for the Marin County Board of Supervisors, with one full-term seat open in District 1 and one in District 5.

Judicial and Special Districts

Voters will also elect officials to nonpartisan Judicial and Special Districts:

  • Judicial Offices: Five seats for Marin County Superior Court Judge (Offices 1-5), all serving full six-year terms. Note that judicial candidates must have filed a Declaration of Intention to qualify for nomination.
  • Special Districts (At Large): Seats are open in two Sanitary Districts — two full-term seats for the Almonte Sanitary District and three full-term seats for the Ross Valley Sanitary District.

US Rep District 2

Incumbent Jared Huffman will look to be re-elected after the map for this seat was redrawn due to redistricting.
