Public Invited to Meet New Novato City Manager
The city will have a public meet-and-greet on the evening of Nov. 9.

Members of the public will be able to meet and greet Novato's new city manager, Regan Candelario, on Wed., Nov. 9 from 5:30-7:30pm at Novato City Hall, 901 Sherman Avenue.
The city says that this is the first of many opportunities to get to know Candelario, who is the seventh city manager in Novato's 56-year history.
Candelario, who grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and attended Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward, began his new role Oct. 24. He previously served as the city manager for the Northern California city of Fortuna, population 10,497, since 2012. From 2010 to 2012, he was the city administrator for the city of Guadalupe, population 7,080, in Santa Barbara County.

His experience also includes three years as a project consultant for redevelopment agencies and 17 years with the Southern California city of Santa Ana, population 329,427.
Novato, which was incorporated in northern Marin County in January 1960, has an estimated 54,749 residents and operating and capital budgets for Fiscal Year 2016-2017 totaling $65 million.

The city's itinerary for the Nov. 9 event includes mingling and light refreshments starting at 5:30 pm, followed by introductions at 6:30 pm. The event is open to the public; no RSVP is necessary.
