Student Voter Registration Up At College Of Marin
The college said it is making efforts to erode the notion that students don't contribute enough to support democracy.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Efforts to increase voter registration at College of Marin have significantly increased registration across all student demographics, according to a campus report.
In 2012, 66.4 percent of enrolled students were registered to vote, but that number increased to 74.2 percent by 2016, college officials said.
According to the college, this included increases across gender, age group, voting method, enrollment status and others.

Of the students who are registered to vote, campus officials said 78 percent voted in 2012 and that number increased to 84 percent in 2016.
The college said it is making efforts to erode the notion that students don't contribute enough to support democracy.

"While the number of students who register to vote is an important indicator, the impact is made when they actually cast their ballots," college officials said in a news release.
