Moving into policy, the Board will have a study session on the Environmental Health Services Consumer Protection Food Program Improvement Work Plan. They will be discussing near-term actions recommended by the Community Development Agency. EHS has been reaching out to the public to get feedback on how to make their permitting and enforcement process smoother. The CDA seeks more public feedback and Board input to improve public health, safety and customer service.

Novato Property Purchase

Supervisors are looking at approving the purchase of the building at 350 Ignacio Blvd. in Novato. The goal is to relocate County personnel who are currently in a leased spot at 1682 Novato Blvd., where the Department of Agriculture / Weights and Measures and the Marin Office of the University of California Cooperative Extension are housed. The county is seeking to save money in the long run, as their current lease is up later in 2026, and rent is expected to increase.

Fire Headquarters Project Update

The Board will also get an update on the Marin County Fire Department Headquarters Project. They will be hearing about the upcoming search for a progressive design-build entity. The plan is to put the new MCFD station, training and support facility at the San Geronimo Commons property, located at 5800 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. in San Geronimo. The staff report and project webpage indicate that feedback gathered from a community event back in December 2025 will help shape the next steps.

New Appointments

Finally, Supervisors will be considering appointments for the Community Services Area #20 (Indian Valley / Domingo Canyon) Board and the Women’s Commission.

Agendas, meeting minutes, and videos are all available on the County website, which also provides info on how the public can participate in a Board meeting.
