Smash-And-Grab Robbers Steal Almost $1M In Jewelry At OC Store Monday

There were several people in the Irvine jewelry store at the time of the robbery, according to the Irvine Police Department.

IRVINE, CA — $900,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from an Irvine business during a smash-and-grab robbery on Monday, the Irvine Police Department reported Tuesday.

The theft comes nine days after police arrested three suspects on suspicion of robbing Kay Jewelers at the Irvine Spectrum, according to a previous Patch report.

The robbery happened at around noon at Jewels By Alan, located on Michelson Drive and Jamboree Road in the Park Place shopping center. At the time of the robbery, two customers, the owner, a business partner and a sales associate were inside.

According to a statement issued by the Irvine Police Department late Tuesday morning, the three suspects were described as "black men dressed in black masks," with one "possibly white male" suspect.

ā€œThey broke every single showcase and pretty much emptied the entire store,ā€ the owner's business partner Michael told the OC Register.

Police told the Orange County Register that the three suspects fled from the scene shortly after.
