Threats Targeting OC High School Trigger Lockdown: Police

The threat was made at around 11 a.m. at a high school in Huntington Beach, police said.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — A threat targeting an Orange County high school triggered a school-wide lockdown, authorities said Tuesday.

The threat was made against Marina High School in Huntington Beach Tuesday morning.

While the nature of the threat was not revealed, the school was briefly placed on a shelter-in-place as a "precaution during the investigation."

"Law enforcement presence will remain increased, in addition to the School Resource Officer already assigned to campus," the HBPD said in a statement. "The safety of our students, staff and community remains our highest priority."
