While preservation officials allowed removal of the historic structures, most of the Town and Country Center remains, and Well in the Desert plans to relocate its food bank with new funding.

2. Aubrey O'Day, the Cowgays to headline 40th annual Palm Springs Pride celebration (kesq.com) — Palm Springs residents can mark their calendars for the 40th annual Palm Springs Pride weekend, November 6–8, with Aubrey O'Day and country supergroup The Cowgays headlining free festivities downtown and in the Arenas District. Organizers promise three stages of live music, drag, DJs, and community booths under the inclusive theme "Be Included," capped by Sunday's Pride Parade along Palm Canyon Drive at 10 a.m.

3. 4. Oswit Land Trust: Tree-trimming during fall, winter seasons reduces risk of disturbing wildlife (kesq.com) — Palm Springs residents are being urged to schedule any major tree trimming between now and January to avoid harming nesting birds and bats, especially in fan palms. Oswit Land Trust is also criticizing the city's multi-year project to remove palm skirts, arguing it strips away vital wildlife habitat, while the city cites safety and public health concerns about falling fronds and pests.

5. Flight Fridays: P-40 Warhawk Takes Center Stage at Palm Springs Air Museum (nbcpalmsprings.com) — Palm Springs aviation fans can see a rare two-seat Curtiss P-40 Warhawk highlighted in this week's Flight Fridays at the Palm Springs Air Museum.
