Five Locals Busted For Allegedly Buying Minors Booze In Petaluma
One arrest got ugly during the recent alcohol and tobacco compliance checks.

From the Petaluma Police Department:
On Jan. 4 and 8, the Petaluma Police Department conducted an alcohol and tobacco compliance check operation.
Officers worked with minor decoys that were sent into tobacco and alcohol retail establishments and attempted to make a purchase. The decoys were also positioned in front of some alcohol retail establishments and asked customers if they would purchase alcohol for them.

This is one strategy the police department is using to reduce the availability of alcohol and tobacco products to minors and to hold retailers accountable for illegal sales.
These operations are conducted through a partnership between the police department and the Healthy Community Consortium.

The following subjects were arrested:
- McKinley Maurice Fortunati, 32 year old, Petaluma resident, purchased alcohol for a minor at Fast and Easy Mart at 860 Petaluma Blvd N. Fortunati was released on a citation to appear.
- Steven John Carney, 60 year old, Penngrove resident, purchased alcohol for a minor at 711 at 5300 Old Redwood Hwy. Carney was released on a citation to appear.
- Ryan Andrew Accurso, 22 year old, Petaluma resident, purchased alcohol for a minor at 711 at 124 Petaluma Blvd South.When contacted by police, Accurso resisted arrest by fighting with officers, attempted to swallow a bindle of suspected cocaine and was in possession of controlled substance paraphernalia and hypodermic needles. In addition to purchasing alcohol for a minor, Accurso was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, attempting to destroy evidence and resisting, obstructing and delaying a police officer. Accurso was booked into Sonoma County Jail on $5000.00 bail.
- William Francis Teixeira, 34 year old, Petaluma resident, purchased alcohol for a minor at 711 at 860 Perry Ln. Teixeira was released on a citation to appear.
- Tobias Caleb Burleson, 43 year old, Petaluma resident, purchased alcohol for a minor at 711 at 124 Petaluma Blvd S. Burleson was released on a citation to appear.
