Oakland Murder Suspect Dead Following Standoff

Jason Alexander Brown, the suspect wanted in a double shooting at a CVS parking lot in Livermore that left one dead and the other victim hospitalized, was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Friday morning after an all night standoff with police at an Oakland motel, Livermore Police confirm.
Both Livermore and Oakland police personnel were involved in the operation. No officers fired their weapons.

Brown, 18, is accused of shooting two men in their 20s as they sat in a car in the CVS pharmacy parking lot at 1500 First St. in Livermore in October. One man died and the other was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for multiple gunshot wounds.
In addition, Brown was the suspect in murders in Sacramento and Fresno.

Livermore detectives obtained a no-bail warrant for Brown’s arrest for one count of murder and one count of attempted murder soon after the CVS shooting.
The standoff was at a Motel 6 on Edes Avenue. Nearby residents were ordered to shelter in place during the ordeal, according to a statement released Friday morning by Oakland Police.
