
HERCULES, CA —A person was found dead early this morning near train tracks in Hercules, a Union Pacific spokesman said.
The body was found near Third Street and Sharon Avenue, Union Pacific spokesman Justin Jacobs said.
"We got the report (of the deceased) around 6:30 a.m. today," Jacobs said. "We are not aware of any Union Pacific trains being there at that time, but we are working with Amtrak, the coroner and local law
enforcement to find out what happened."

Amtrak trains stopped at 5:53 a.m. when the company was informed that a person had been found dead nearby, Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham said.
The tracks were re-opened at 8:15 a.m., she said.
