Dramatic Video of Treacherous Pleasanton Arroyo

Do you recognize this area of downtown Pleasanton?

PLEASANTON, CA — Patch reader ‎Gina Marie Woodard‎ shared this dramatic video of the swollen Pleasanton arroyo near Main Street this week.

“This is the little bridge that goes between the downtown neighborhood and the arroyo path- there's usually 6-8 feet below the footpath to the water below,” Woodard said via social media. “Look at it this afternoon!”

Late last month, police officials in Livermore reminded residents to avoid the local arroyos, which have all become swollen and extremely dangerous from the recent storms.

The storms have also wreaked havoc on Tri-Valley trails. The Alamo Canal Trail 580 undercrossing in Dublin has been temporarily closed to pedestrians and bicyclists and rain has delayed repairs to the Arroyo Mocho trail, located along West Las Positas and I-680, which was abruptly closed in January after the slopes started to slide into the canal following days of heavy rains.
