Congressman Baca Makes District Choice
The congressman intends to run for the newly created 35th Congressional District, which takes him a bit farther west.

Congressman Joe Baca (D–Rialto) has announced his intention to run for the state's newly created 35th Congressional District. The recently approved district includes the cities of Pomona, Montclair, Ontario, Chino, unincorporated Bloomington, and portions of Fontana and Rialto.
“It has been my distinct honor to fight for the residents of the Inland Empire in Congress since first winning a special election in 1999,” Baca said in a released statement. “As the incumbent in the 43rd Congressional District, I have represented 60.7 percent of the areas included in the new 35th District. As a State Senator, I represented all of the communities in this new congressional district.
In mid-August, the Citizens Redistricting Commission presented the final district maps for Congressional, State Assembly, State Senate and Board of Equalization districts to the Secretary of State's office.
