Occupy Redlands Begins Protest

Rally set for noon on Saturday. A smaller rally is scheduled today at 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Redlands Boulevard and Orange Street.

Between 10 to 15 people made it out to a qucikly assembled protest Thursday organized by the newly formed Occupy Redlands group.

According to its members, in roughly a week the movement has grown from a couple of organizers to more than 40 followers. It's members organized a protest in one night, members said.

Occupy Redlands plans to be part of the Global Day of Action rally. Cities and communities around the world are scheduling protests.

The Occupy movement began in support of Occupy Wall Street protests that began in New York to express frustration with the current economic situation in the nation.

Redlands members will hold a protest at noon that will include a march. The group will meet at the corner of Fifth Street and Redlands Boulevard on Saturday.
