Peace is Possible, Author Tells Crowd
Author Paul Chappell speaks our for peace before a Redlands crowd.
Amid the memorials and prayers for peace, one man told 130 people in Redlands that peace is most certainly possible.
Iraq War veteran Paul Chappell spoke to the crowd Sunday at an event presented by Citizens’ Action for Peace.
“We are very happy with how it went,” said CAP spokeswoman Katy Ahearn. “He spoke for over two hours building the case that war is obsolete.”

Chappell is the author of two books promoting peace around the world: "Will War Ever End? A Soldier's Vision of Peace for the 21st Century" and "The End of War: How Waging Peace Can Save Humanity, Our Planet and Our Future."
He is also a graduate of West Point Military Academy.

The discussion included quotes and statistics from military generals, philosophers, anthropologists and psychologists, Ahearn said.
