Blog: A Call for Civility, Respect
A simple request in honor of those who gave it all.
Today, Dawn Ayers posted a response on a blog piece online. Most of you probably didn't take notice. But, as a former Air Force officer, it really hit home for me. Before you send your next Patch or Facebook response, take a moment and reflect on the simple request below from the aunt of someone who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy our rights and freedeom. I have already made that commitment.
Regardless if you are for or against Measure A, remember you have the privilege to vote your choice. We live in a country where we have the right to "agree to disagree"—thanks to the sacrifices of our veterans. It is our veterans who understand the real cost of these freedoms. And whether you agree or disagree, you have the RIGHT to be heard because of these sacrifices. These folks will continue to be your neighbors after the election, so let's all act like adults and set examples that we will be proud for our children to see.
