Blog: LA Networking Matters Event Raises Funds for Local Charities

LA Networking Matters fourth annual networking event, Network Your Heart Out....It Matters! raised over $17,000 for local charities and scholarship funds.

The event took place at the newly remodeled Manhattan Country Club in Manhattan Beach on Feb. 20 with more than 200 attendees.

In 2009, Adia In-Home Care and a group of South Bay businesses came together and introduced the first networking event to benefit local charities.

This years’ beneficiaries were Peninsula Seniors, the Toberman Neighborhood Center and the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce’s High School Scholarship Fund. 

This year’s event raised $17,342.00 with 210 guests and over $10,000 worth of raffle items. There were 16 sponsors including this year’s Title Sponsor, Bank of Manhattan.  

“Bank of Manhattan is a community bank and it is important for us to give back and be involved with the community.  We are pleased to be associated with Networking Matters and to be able to help out with such worthy charities,” said Russell Hossain, EVP of Mortgage Lending.

The event proceeds will benefit the Toberman Neighborhood Center’s after school program, Toberman Academy and Peninsula Seniors’ Quality of Life Scholarship Fund.
