Members of the local media were invited to attend a preview of the new lunch menu with Shade General Manger Shauna McKelvey.
Zinc’s signature Ready, Set, Lunch menu was a favorite with diners from the beginning. It featured classic comfort foods using inventive ingredients at very reasonable prices – think grilled cheese made with brie and thinly sliced pear.

Not wanting to mess with success, they’ve taken that menu concept and expanded it, retaining the most popular dishes, adding new twists to old favorites and introducing several new selections.
Diners can still order the Signature Calamari appetizer or sample the new Crispy Calamari Greek salad option with Kalamata olives and feta cheese.
The new Caprese Cups are an innovative variation of that popular dish, served in a tomato ‘cup’ and garnished with dwarf basil, balsamic pearls and Kalamata puree.
The Zinc Chopped salad currently features moist chunks of salmon while the wildly popular Baja Cerviche Tower remains unchanged.
Everyone’s favorite Carne Asada tacos are still available in addition to fish or grilled chicken versions.
A completely new dish, the spicy Linguini Arrabiata with wild Mexican shrimp is made with whole wheat linguini, roasted red peppers and crimini mushrooms.
The new lunch menu is more extensive and includes both vegetarian and vegan options with most of the items in the $12 to $14 range for generous portions. Produce is locally sourced, fresh fish is delivered daily and breads are baked on-site every day.
Located in Metlox Plaza just a few blocks from the surf, zinc@shade embraces the casual seaside culture while offering diners a deliciously refreshing take on traditional beach bites.
Shade Hotel is located at 1221 N. Valley Drive in Manhattan Beach.
