South Bay Children Choir’s May concert is the perfect tonic for spring. After many years at a different venue, SBCC will perform for the first time at Riviera United Methodist Church in Redondo Beach.
The concert includes five of the organization’s choral ensembles: Meistersingers, Choristers, Choraliers, Concert Choir and Bel Canto, who will sing classical and folk music in Latin, German, French and Spanish, as well as English. Works by great composers G. F. Handel, Charles Debussy, Henry Purcell, and Johannes Brahms will be performed, as well as the reprise of two contemporary works premiered this year by SBCC choirs. There will also be a performance by the new boys’ chorus, a preview of the new group launching next year. Anyone who hasn’t been to one of our final concerts has a treat in store!
