T. Jefferson Parker signs The Jaguar

The music of the narcocorrido, a folk ballad that records the exploits of Mexico’s drug dealers, gunrunners, and outlaws, is central to The Jaguar, T. Jefferson Parker’s new installment in his Charlie Hood border series.  The pregnant songwriter wife of a corrupt L.A. Sheriff’s department deputy has been kidnapped by a cartel leader, who demands a

$1 million ransom, and forces her to create narcocorridos celebrating and mythologizing his exploits.
